At the beginning of March, planning a winter spa break in the Lake District may well have seemed some time away. However, with the ongoing impact of a global pandemic, it’s potentially one last chance of a holiday before the end of the year.
Why a Winter Spa Break?
If you live in the UK, a staycation could be just what’s needed after a year of uncertainty. After all, as we reflect on everything happening in the world, it’s still important to look after ourselves. That’s both mentally and physically, as such spa break in the Lake District is perfect.
By booking into our hot tub spa suites in Windermere, guests can relax and unwind within our beautiful surroundings. Having spent the last few months introducing additional spa suites, the Windermere Tranquil Retreat briefly re-opened our doors.
However, with another temporary lockdown in place, we currently plan to welcome guests back for a winter spa break. One in which your spa suite and private hot tub await, along with a host of other modern facilities all in the comfort of your own room.
Things to do in the Winter
As well as appreciating all the benefits of a hot tub spa suite, there are still plenty of things to do in Windermere in the Winter.
After all, the Lake District National Park really comes alive during the colder months. Walking holidays are a popular past-time in the Lakes all year round. Although, as a winter spa break in the Lake District will demonstrate, December onwards is somewhat magical.
On a clear day, you can see the snowy peaks of Scafell Pike, while an early stroll is met with a cool-mist floating over Lake Windermere. If you wish to make the most of staying near the water, then join a Lake Cruise to nearby Coniston.
Alternatively, providing social distancing allows, there are plenty of ever-popular tourist attractions available. Including the likes of Blackwell Arts and Craft House, the Lakes Aquarium and the World of Beatrix Potter.
By leaving the car behind you can take in the picturesque scenery aboard the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Why not travel a little further afield to Muncaster Castle or simply stay close to your hot tub spa suite in Windermere and snuggle up with a loved one?
Then, of course, there’s the local nightlife. With a host of award-winning restaurants and the log fires of bars in Bowness-on-Windermere just a short walk away.
Winter Spa Break in the Lake District
As we begin another period of lockdown due to Covid-19, here at the Windermere Tranquil Retreat we remain in positive spirits. In line with the latest government advise, we are currently due to re-open on Wednesday 2nd December.
As such, perfect timing to start planning a winter spa break in the Lake District before the end of the year. However, please note in the event of any further lockdown measures, please refer to our Covid Update page for more details.
