Aerial Festival – 26th to 29th March 2020
The Aerial Festival in Ambleside is one of the newest editions to the festival calendar in the Lake District. With its first event in March 2020 set to be a fantastic line-up, there’s everything from live music, spoken word to art and literature.
About Aerial Festival in Ambleside
Unlike other major festivals in the Lake District such as Kendal Calling, Aerial Festival is set in existing venues. With the local pubs, clubs and theatres in Ambleside hosting a diverse array of artists and installation.
As such, there’s no camping available on site as this is an indoor event with each event and performance individually prices. Although if you intend to make it a holiday in the Lake District, then why not book tickets online for more than one night out?
After all, here at the Windermere Tranquil Retreat, we have accommodation available at our Spa Hotel in the Lake District. Located a short drive from the weekends’ entertainment.
Highlights of the Aerial Festival 2020
The Aerial Festival in March 2020 has a particularly strong line-up of artists and events during the weekend. In fact, you may find it difficult to choose which to buy tickets for! Luckily, we’ve already taken a look at the festival programme and have a few ideas of our own.
One of the biggest names on the bill is the hugely successful Kate Tempest. Known for her thought-provoking spoken word and modern poetry, Kate Tempest has already performed on the major stages at the likes of Reading and Glastonbury festivals.
Wild Beast frontman Hayden Thorpe is the weekends’ artist in resident. Giving him a chance of stepping away from his main band for 2 separate shows. As well as showcasing his debut solo album, Hayden Thorpe is also curating something a little different within the ancient site of Castlerigg stone circle.
Meanwhile, even the local transport is getting involved in the Aerial Festival. The Windermere Streamer, which you can easily reach from our spa hotel, has an afternoon of “sounds and words”. Likewise, Kim Moore and Clare Shaw will be reciting poetry onboard the 555 and 599 buses from Windermere to Keswick.
